This miraculous moment serves as a powerful metaphor for the work God wants to do in our lives. What areas of your life seem hopelessly dead? What dreams have you buried, convinced they'll never see the light of day? What relationships feel beyond repair? The story of Lazarus reminds us that nothing – absolutely nothing – is beyond the resurrecting power of God.

However, there's an important detail we shouldn't overlook. When Lazarus emerges from the tomb, he's still bound in grave clothes. Jesus then instructs those around him, "Unbind him, and let him go." This speaks to the collaborative nature of God's work in our lives. While only God can bring the dead to life, He often invites us to participate in the 'unbinding' process – both for ourselves and others.

Are there areas of your life where you need to allow others to help 'unbind' you from past hurts, limiting beliefs, or destructive patterns? Conversely, who in your life might God be calling you to help 'unbind,' offering support, encouragement, and practical assistance as they step into new life?

The story of Lazarus also challenges us to examine our response to God's timing. Jesus' deliberate delay in coming to Bethany seemed cruel in the moment, but it set the stage for a far greater display of God's power and glory. When we're in the midst of our own 'grave situations,' can we trust that God's timing, while often mysterious, is ultimately perfect?

It's worth noting that Jesus' decision to return to Judea to help Lazarus put His own life at risk. The religious leaders there had recently tried to stone Him. Yet Jesus was willing to face danger to bring life to His friend. This foreshadows the ultimate act of sacrificial love – Jesus' death on the cross – where He entered the grave Himself to conquer death once and for all.

The message of grace beyond the grave is not just a comforting platitude; it's the very heart of the Christian gospel. It declares that there is no situation so dire, no loss so great, and no sin so egregious that it's beyond the reach of God's redeeming love.

As we navigate life's challenges, may we cling to this hope. When we stand at the graves of our dreams, relationships, or loved ones, may we listen for the voice of the One who declares, "I am the resurrection and the life." May we have the courage to believe that even in our darkest moments, grace is at work, preparing the way for new life to emerge.

For those feeling trapped in a 'grave situation' today, know this: your story isn't over. The God who called Lazarus from the tomb is the same God who longs to speak life into your circumstances. Will you trust Him? Will you allow His grace to penetrate even the darkest corners of your experience?

Remember, grace doesn't just meet us at the grave – it carries us beyond it, into the light of new possibilities and the promise of resurrection power at work in our lives.

When the Tempter Comes: Navigating Life's Challenges with Faith

In our journey through life, we all face moments of temptation. These moments can be subtle or overwhelming, but they invariably test our character and faith. The story of Jesus' temptation in the wilderness provides profound insights into how we can handle our own struggles with temptation.

The Wilderness Experience

Imagine being led into a desolate place, fasting for 40 days and nights. This was Jesus' experience immediately after his baptism. In our lives, we too face "wilderness" moments - times of isolation, hunger (both physical and spiritual), and vulnerability. It's in these moments that temptation often strikes hardest.

The Nature of Temptation

Temptation is the desire to do something, especially something wrong or unwise. It's marked by an insatiable urge or strong impulse. The tempter often targets our areas of greatest weakness, and those with the strongest spiritual sensitivity may face the most intense temptations.

Three Strategies for Overcoming Temptation

1. Remind the Tempter of Spiritual Truth

When faced with temptation, our first line of defense is the Word of God. Jesus countered each temptation by quoting scripture: "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God." This reminds us of the importance of knowing and internalizing scripture.

We must hide God's Word in our hearts, as the Psalmist says, so that we might not sin against Him. When temptation comes, we can remind ourselves (and the tempter) of truths like:
- "Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world."
- "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
- "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want."

2. Resist the Tempter

James 4:7 tells us, "Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." Resistance involves not engaging in negotiation or debate with temptation. As the old saying goes, "If you lay down with dogs, you're going to get up with fleas." We must maintain a safe distance from temptation.

Resistance also means recognizing the "interval of choice" - that moment between the tempting thought and the resulting action. In this interval, we have the power to make a decision. Will we give in to temptation, or will we stand firm in our faith?

3. Rebuke the Tempter

Sometimes, we need to take a firm stand against temptation. Jesus demonstrated this when he said, "Get behind me, Satan!" There comes a point where we must be forceful in our rejection of temptation, declaring our allegiance to God alone.

The Power of God's Promises

In moments of temptation, we can draw strength from God's promises. 1 Corinthians 10:13 assures us that "No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it."

This promise reminds us that we're not alone in our struggles. God understands our temptations and provides the strength to overcome them.

The Danger of Isolation

Temptation often strikes hardest when we're isolated. The enemy, like a lion, seeks to separate us from the herd. This is why community is so crucial in our spiritual lives. We need fellow believers who can pray for us, support us, and hold us accountable.

Hebrews 10:25 encourages us, "Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching."

The True Source of Fulfillment

One of the most insidious aspects of temptation is its promise of fulfillment. The tempter showed Jesus all the kingdoms of the world, offering him glory and power. But Jesus, as the creator of all things, knew that true fulfillment comes only from God.

In our lives, we may be tempted by wealth, fame, or pleasure. But like Jesus, we must recognize that these things are ultimately empty compared to the richness of a relationship with God. As Psalm 37:4 reminds us, "Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart."

The Interval of Choice

One of the most powerful concepts to grasp in dealing with temptation is the "interval of choice." This is the moment between the tempting thought and our action. In this interval, we have the power to make a decision. Will we give in to temptation, or will we stand firm in our faith?

Recognizing this interval gives us the opportunity to pause, reflect, and make a conscious choice. It's in this moment that we can call on God for strength, remind ourselves of His Word, and choose the path of righteousness.

Conclusion: The Power of Calling on Jesus

In our moments of greatest temptation, we have a powerful resource: the name of Jesus. We serve a Savior who understands our struggles, having been "tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin" (Hebrews 4:15).

When temptation comes, we can call on Jesus. He is our Good Shepherd, the one who knows us by name and leads us in paths of righteousness. He is our Rock, our Fortress, our Deliverer.

As we face life's temptations, let us remember to remind the tempter of God's truth, resist his advances, and rebuke him in Jesus' name. Let us draw strength from God's promises, seek support from our faith community, and always keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.

In every moment of temptation, we have a choice. May we choose wisely, relying not on our own strength, but on the power of God working within us. For it is He who is able to keep us from stumbling and to present us before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy (Jude 1:24).

Let us stand firm in faith, confident in the knowledge that no temptation is too great for those who trust in the Lord. For in Christ, we are more than conquerors.

The Choice is Yours: Grace, Glory, and God's Unfailing Love

In life, we're constantly faced with choices. Some are trivial, like choosing between Coke or Pepsi. Others are more significant, like deciding which car to drive or where to live. But there's one choice that stands above all others - the choice of whom we will serve.

This profound decision was presented to the Israelites thousands of years ago by their leader Joshua. As he neared the end of his life, Joshua gathered the people and issued a challenge that still resonates today: "Choose you this day whom you will serve."

Joshua's words remind us that our choices reveal our preferences. What we choose shows what we value most. And when it comes to spiritual matters, our choices have eternal consequences.

But before we dive into the weight of this decision, we must first acknowledge two crucial elements that shape our ability to choose: grace and glory.

Grace: The Unearned Gift

Grace is not something we can choose or earn. It's a gift freely given by God. It's His unmerited, undeserved, and unpurchasable favor. We don't deserve it, but we desperately need it.

Every morning, before our feet touch the ground, God's grace is already waiting for us. It's easy to forget about grace when we've become accustomed to comfort and abundance. We start thinking we've earned our blessings or that we deserve what we have. But it's crucial to remember that everything good in our lives stems from God's grace.

The Israelites experienced this grace firsthand. When the death angel swept through Egypt, it was God's grace that protected them, causing the angel to "pass over" their blood-marked homes. Throughout their journey from slavery to the Promised Land, it was God's grace that sustained them, forgave their rebellions, and continually delivered them.

Glory: The Manifest Presence of God

While we can't choose grace, we desperately need God's glory in our lives. The glory of God is His manifest presence, His power made visible. For the Israelites, this glory appeared as a pillar of cloud by day and fire by night, leading them through the wilderness. It was the glory of God that parted the Red Sea, that settled on Mount Sinai, and that filled the tabernacle.

We need God's glory to shine on us today just as much as the Israelites did then. When God's glory touches our lives, it changes everything. It shifts atmospheres, alters situations, and transforms how people respond to us. In the face of uncertainty - whether it's a looming medical diagnosis, potential job loss, or any other challenge - we need to cry out, "Lord, let your glory shine on me!"

The God of Grace and Glory

At the heart of this message is not just grace or glory, but the God who provides both. This is the God who defeated Pharaoh and his army, who brought His people through countless trials and tribulations. This is the Creator who spoke the universe into existence, who formed humanity from dust and breathed life into us.

This God is a way-maker, a comforter, an advocate, and a promise-keeper. He's the God who heals, who dries our tears, and who never fails. This is the God we're called to choose, the one Joshua urged the Israelites to serve.

The Ultimate Choice

While our choice is important, there's an even more significant choice that was made on our behalf over 2,000 years ago. Jesus Christ, God's only Son, chose us. He chose to leave heaven's glory and come to earth. He chose to endure ridicule, torture, and death on a cross - all for our sake.

As Jesus knelt in the Garden of Gethsemane, sweating drops of blood, He was choosing us. As He was led from one unjust trial to another, He was choosing us. As nails were driven into His hands and feet, He was choosing us. With each labored breath on the cross, He was choosing us.

Jesus made this choice knowing there was a penalty for sin that we could never pay. He chose to take our place, to bear our punishment, so that we could be reconciled to God. As Isaiah prophesied, "He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed."

Our Response

Now, the choice is ours. Will we choose to serve the God who has already chosen us? Will we respond to His grace and seek His glory in our lives?

The apostle Paul gives us clear instruction: "If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

Choosing to follow Christ doesn't mean our lives will suddenly become perfect or free from challenges. But it does mean we'll never face those challenges alone. We'll have the grace of God to sustain us and the glory of God to guide us.

As you reflect on this message, consider the choices you're making each day. Are they drawing you closer to God or pulling you away? Are you seeking His grace and His glory, or are you relying solely on your own strength?

Remember Joshua's bold declaration: "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." May we have the courage to make the same choice, to align our lives with the God who chose us first, who lavishes us with grace, and who longs to reveal His glory through us.

The choice is yours. Who will you serve today?

The Lord's Favor: A Beacon of Hope Isaiah 61:1 "The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor.

At the very core of this very verse is a heart attuned to a specific group. The "poor" in this passage encapsulates more than financial deprivation. It speaks to the very person that is broken, oppressed, and forgotten by society. Jesus, came not just for the religious or for those who claim to be morally upright but for the sinners and the castaways. His mission was a testament to God's unwavering love for the least of these.

The phrase "the Lord has anointed me" is a declaration of divine empowerment. It signifies a special calling and equipping for a specific task., Jesus anointed by the Holy Spirit, was uniquely qualified to bring hope and healing to the brokenhearted. That same anointing is available to all of us today. We are to carry the message of God's love and redemption to all those we come in contact with.

How can we all embody the mission that has been given to all of us?  We are to show some empathy and compassion. We are to engage in practical acts of kindness and compassion, grounding our efforts in prayer and Scripture.  This scripture serves as a call to action. It's an invitation to participate in God's transformative work in the world.

By embracing this mission , we have to align ourselves with a purpose that is greater than ourselves, connecting our lives to a divine narrative.  Our daily interactions can become expressions of God's love, reflecting His grace and mercy in tangible ways.

Empathy and compassion are are not merely feelings; they are deliberate choices that can create real change. Whether its through lending a listening ear, providing practical support, or advocating for those in need, we must ensure that our actions are rooted in prayer and Scripture.  This grounding helps us to avoid being swayed by Your own desires and instead deepens our connection to the Spirit of God.

So, today I ask that the Lord would increase your faith. Let your life be marked by the same dedication and compassion that Jesus demonstrated.  In doing so, we not only honor his mission but we also become the tangible vessels of his hope and healing in a world that is in need of that.

"As a deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God.  My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I go and appear before God?" (Psalm 42:1-2)  
 
Lord, increase my faith today. Grant me a deep thirst for your Word, as the scripture describe. May our desire for your Word be so intense that I see3k it daily. Like a deer panting for water, my would longs for you, O God. My soul thirsts for the living God.

These verses from Psalm 42 beautifully capture the profound longing that we all experience for God. We are created to be in relationship with Him, and when we are separated from Him, we feel a emptiness in our lives. The psalmist compares this longing to a deer's thirst for water. Just as a deer cannot survive without water, we cannot survive without God. We need Him to sustain us, to give us meaning and purpose.

We all desire an intimate relationship with God. We want to know Him personally, to love Him deeply, and to be loved by Him in return. This longing is a fundamental part of our human nature. It's desire that can't be fully satisfied by anything else in this world.

Despite our longing for God, it can sometimes feel like we are far from Him. Life's challenges, our own failings, and the distractions of the world can create a sense of distance between us and God. We may feel lost, confused and alone.

In the midst of our struggles, it is important to remember that God is always near. He is never far from those who seek Him. Even when you feel most distant from Him, He is still there , waiting for us to turn to Him. We can reconnect with God through prayer, worship, and studying His word. Prayer is a powerful tool for communicating with God and expressing our desires. Worship helps us to focus on God and His goodness. And studying the Bible reveals God's character, His promises, and His love for us.

As you deepen your relationship with God, you can't help but want to share that joy with others. By sharing our faith, we can help others to experience the peace and fulfillment that comes from knowing God.

Longing for God is a natural and beautiful part of the human experience. It's desire that can be fulfilled through a personal relationship with Him. By seeking God through prayer, worship and studying His Word we can experience His presence, His Love, and His Peace.

1 Timothy 2:1 First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people.

Intercessory prayer is a powerful tool that has been used throughout history to bring about change and transformation. It is the act of praying on behalf of others, and interceding for their needs and desires.

A Personal Connection Many of us can recall a time when a loved one, perhaps a grandmother or grandfather prayed fervently for us. Their prayers  could be felt at all times. They were in constant prayer for their family. It was as if they were praying to shield us from harm , going to God on our behalf with God.

Spiritual Warefare Intercessory prayer is a form of spiritual warfare. It involves recognizing the spiritual battles that we face and calling upon God's power to over come them. This will include praying for someone who is sick, someone having financial difficulties, relationship problems or other challenges.

Personal Growth Engaging in intercessory prayer can lead to personal growth. As you pray for others, you may find yourself developing greater patience, humility, and a deeper understanding of God's will. You realize the importance of being in the Spirit.

The Role of the Intercessor Intercessory prayer involves petitioning God, or a higher power, on behalf of someone else. The person who is praying is called an intercessor, and their role is to stand in the gap between the person in need and the divine. When you pray for someone else, it shifts your focus from your own concerns to the needs of others.

Faith and Trust in God Intercessory prayer requires faith that God hears and responds. It's not about convincing God to act but about aligning your heart with God's will and expressing your trust in His plan.Intercessory prayer is not without its challenges.

Challenges and Rewards However, prayer is not about demanding outcomes but about entrusting situations to a higher power and aligning ourselves with divine purposes. Unanswered prayers can be disheartening, it's essential to remember that the act of intercession itself is valuable, even if the results are not immediately visible. Trusting in God's wisdom and timing is a crucial aspect of the process. Let's embrace the power of intercessory prayer and make a difference in the lives of those around us.

Proverb 22:6  Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

The formative years are crucial in shaping a child's character and how they feel about everything and everyone. As a child we have all grown up watching our parents pray. I remember seeing my grandmother write and pray using her well worn bible. her bible was filled with outlines, words of encouragement and faith verses underlined. She had tear stains in there and there was also perfumed sprayed tissues in there. A once small bible was now thick with notes. So just know Its about more than just attending church. It's about incorporating faith into daily life and conversations. We all learn more by watching our parents than by actually listening to what they say.

Yes we are all given free will and ultimately our children are their own person with the freedom and free will to choose their own paths. While God has given us the responsibility to guide our children, their spiritual journey is going to be between them and God. They are going to have to know and call on God for themselves. Will they make decisions that disappoint us yes! But, seeing us with our own relationship with God provides them with a strong spiritual mentor.

Our home is and always have been grounded in Christ. We will provide a  strong foundation for our children and that will pass down to their own children. Instill the biblical principles into your children as soon as they can understand what you tell them. Read them the Children's stories we all heard when we were younger. And. you have to give them time to get it. They are fighting with the world now and social media. Spiritual growth takes time. Let them know they are doing well when you see them go to God in prayer for everything. Celebrate their efforts to connect with God through prayer, and acknowledge their spiritual milestones. Your example and encouragement will help them build a lasting relationship with God and establish a firm spiritual foundation for their own children in the future.

Psalm 23:3 "He restores my soul: He leads me in paths of righteousness for His name's sake."

This verse in particular should resonate deeply with us promising restoration, guidance and protection. This is a Restoration of the Soul, what does it mean to have our souls restored? To have our souls restored means experiencing a profound renewal and healing at the deepest level. Im talking about healing from wounds whether it be emotional, psychological and or spiritual. These wounds may come from our past traumas, disappointments etc.

But when our souls are restored God will address all those deep hurts you have. Mending your brokeness and providing comfort and peace. (whew take a moment and just thank God for restoration.) It recalibrates our inner being and realigns us with the will of God. Restoration of the soul is a healing process that is a divine intervention that addresses our deepest needs bringing a sense of wholeness, purpose and peace. Its a journey from brokenness to healing, from confusion to clarity, and from despair to hope. Our soul being restored also rejuvenates our spirit and its like you have been in a spiritual bootcamp. Where you find yourself recharged  and looking forward to a deepened relationship with God.

You see how the verse goes on to say that "He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake." That means that God is not only our restorer but also our guide. That should give you comfort in knowing that you have access to God's GPS. He knows the path for you that leads to good life and abundance, and He desires to lead us on it. His guidance is not about avoiding trouble; its about experiencing His fullness and fulfilling His purpose for our lives.

When you align your life with God's will, you will find protection from the storms of life. He is our fortress our refuge, and our shield. We may encounter challenges, but we can trust that He is with us, guiding our steps and protecting us from all harm. The final part says that His desire to guide us is but for His glory. He wants the world to know about His goodness and faithfulness through our lives.

I ask that you would embrace the promises of God in a world where our souls often have to bear the weight of life's trials, Psalm 23:3 is a true beacon of hope. It reminds us that God is not only aware of our struggles but is actively involved in restoring and guiding us. When you feel lost or broken, remember that God's restoration is available, His guidance is on point, and His protection is steadfast. Allow God to restore your soul, trust in His guidance, and find peace in His protection. As you continue to walk the path of life I pray that your life will reflect His glory and His goodness.

As a little girl, being in the church sanctuary with my grandmother was always a place I dreaded going to. My grandmother sang on the choir with her twin sister my aunt and they would be there for hours. The smell of the old hymnals and the stained pews was more than enough for me. And, lets not talk about the smell of food when there was an anniversary or something. Sitting beside my grandmother when she was able to be with me , I was always  instructed to be still. That was a daunting task for a child brimming with so much energy. Why couldn't I explore what was going on downstairs where the food was?. Why couldn't I be with her in the back with the choir? I wanted to be anywhere but on this second pew from the front. I could feel the pastor  looking into my soul this close.

I didn't understand the significance of stillness then. It was a concept that was foreign to me. But, as Ive grown up and I have had children of my own the beauty of quietness  and being still is something that I look forward to.  I find myself reflecting on those moment's with a new perspective. In the hustle and bustle of life, its easy to forget the importance of just being. Its not merely about the physical quiet; its about finding moments of calm amidst the chaos.

Psalm 46:10 reminds us, "Be still, and know that I am God." It's an divine invitation to pause, to breathe, and to connect with something greater than ourselves. In the quiet moments I want you to search for clarity.  I want you to pray for God to help you to be still. We hear the gentle whisper of God amidst the noise in the pure quiet moments. Sneak away to your prayer closet to see what I mean. The gentle whisper of God often goes unheard, but when we allow ourselves to be still, we open the door to a deeper understanding of our faith and ourselves. Its in these quiet moments we can find solace, gain some insight and strengthen our connection to God.

So looking back on those church days with my grandmother, I now can see them through a different lens. What once seemed like  torture has transformed itself into a valuable lesson and power of being still. I encourage you that when you can to embrace those moments of quiet, whether in a church sanctuary or in the midst of your daily routine. Sit in the car before you go in the house, turn the radio off and just be. In the stillness you may just discover the clarity and connection you have been looking for. But you have to be open to it.

If you ever find yourself in a place of restlessness or you feel overwhelmed consider embracing the practice of being still. Find a quiet place and take a breath, allow yourself to be present in the moment. Allow yourself the time to recalibrate yourself.

James 2: 14-17 What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food.  If one of you. says to them, Go in peace; keep warm and well fed." but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action is dead.

There is a  truth overlooked in this passage; it challenges us to not only dream and hope, but to also act and achieve.  True faith compels us to act. It's the bridge between belief and doing something. It definitely challenges you to move beyond simple intentions and prayers and into tangible actions that manifest through our faith and ambitions.

Take for instance are you diligently seeking a job, or are you sitting around hoping for divine intervention while neglecting the practical steps needed to get one?. Each application that you put in represents a step forward, a demonstration of faith coupled with effort.

Dreaming of starting a business, is that one of your big bodacious goals? Have you worked towards that goal by maybe enrolling in courses, studied how other entrepreneurs  have drafted their business plans? Maybe you also have other goals whether it's committing to walking more or eating better. Are you interested in writing your own book but don't feel as if you can do it? Have you looked into getting a ghostwriter to help you with your thoughts? God is putting people in place to help you but, you have got to step out there in faith! Faith in your potential must be met with some deliberate steps towards improvement. Give God something to bless!

Most of the time our dreams and aspirations are stagnant and it isn't a lack of faith or desire. Its our tendency to remain hoping for change without actively pursuing it. (whoa did I just come down your street). James reminds us that faith, when its strong motivates us to action. It will propel us beyond our comfort zones pushing us to seize more opportunities.

Think about the wisdom of James in this passage how faith without works is dead. It's not enough to dream or pray; we must act with purpose and some determination. Come on and let your faith be the spark that ignites meaningful action. Embrace the journey of growth, knowing each step that you take strengthens your faith and commitment to your goals.

Matthew 6:12-14 (NIV) " And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one. For if you forgive other peope when they sin against you , your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins."

Imagine you are standing before God, humbly asking for HIs forgiveness, and hearing these unexpected words: " I will do it, I will forgive you based on the last time you forgave someone. I am going to forgive you in the same way.(whoa) Thinking about it like that is kind of makes you think wow, I know for a fact I don't want HIM to say that to me. But, as kids growing up we were all taught this scripture, we even somehow remembered it as adults. To be honest we never really took the time to really understand the words.

But as an adult , as we really start to unpack the scriptures for ourselves we see that the Lord's prayer teaches us not only to ask for forgiveness but also to recognize there is a condition of forgiveness that we must forgive others as well. (yes, I know sometimes its extremely hard to do ) It's something to think about isn't it? To think that our own forgiveness is not just on our repentance but also on our willingness to extend forgiveness to those who have wronged us. This is not about forgetting the hurt or dismissing the consequences of someone's actions. Instead, it's about releasing the hold of bitterness and anger from our hearts. We all mess up, and God's forgiveness is a gift. Think about how heavy that weight is, constantly stealing your joy, disrupts your peace and can make you physically and mentally ill.

How many times have you played what someone did to you in your mind? By forgiving others we open ourselves up to receiving God's forgiveness as well. (Grace). By extending grace to the one who hurt or wronged you. It shows that you are choosing freedom over bondage, healing over the hurt they caused and reconciliation over this thing that will keep you apart.  Is it easy all the time to do no! but with prayer and God's help you can get through anything. Let God's Grace in this moment be sufficient enough for you. (2 Corinthians 12:9)

Let's all work on the power of forgiveness and seek to give that same Grace that we often need ourselves from God. Pray for a softened heart and the weight of unforgiveness to be lifted up off of you. Let it go is it worth it? I don't know about you but I want to receive the fullness of HIS forgiveness! 

Have you ever felt like you are just praying and praying and God does not hear you. Have you frustrated yourself because you feel as if the outcome is out of your control? Surrendering control needs to be a constant prayer focus. Let me tell you, the silence of being still sometimes can be deafening, and God's timing can feel like it is moving at a snails pace. We all pray about things with an end in mind, a clear path of how we think things should go, or we have a specific answer in mind. But, when it doesn't happen like we want it to then doubt creeps in. The stories we tell ourselves about how God feels about us takes flight!. You know how it goes , God doesn't hear me, God doesn't love me. Maybe its because I have done this or that.

But just know that I understand that this life is not always easy. But don't you know that we can bear all things, and endure all things through a strength and grace that is not our own.(this right here whew) God promises in HIS word to be with us, to help us, to give us the grace that is sufficient for all circumstances we might face in our lives. 2 Corinthians 12:9 ( I can feel you smiling as you read this part).

The thing is even if we pray and it happens exactly how we want it to we win. But if we pray and it happens but in a way that was God will and in God's way we still win. The truth is we all have a choice, we can hold on to our desired outcome or be content to wait on or surrender to the perfect will of God.

The bible is filled with stories of those who wrestled with this very thing.(Psalm 13:1, Habakkuk 1:2) They were looking for deliverance in a certain way but, God did deliver them but according to his timing and his purpose and it was far greater then what they were looking for. There is victory regardless such as Victory in our desired outcome when things happen according to our plans, we look at it as a confirmation of our prayers. Or there is a Victory in surrendering to the Will and way of God, his timing and his purpose even if it is different from ours.  He may not come when you want him but, you all know that HE is always on time. You do know that HE wants more for us than we want for ourselves!

Waiting on the Lord we experience a  peace and yes a stronger faith.! And we allow God to write a better story. One that shows that you get what you want but you also become what HE wants you to be. OH, This whole blog will preach! I pray that you will surrender and wait I say on the Lord! Let him direct your path!

Life can be hard sometimes. One minute you are up and the next minute you are faced with a challenge that throws you. One that makes you pull on the faith that you do have.  Faith is an ever constant thing that you have to work at. Keep yourself in that spiritual bootcamp so when you are weak the strength of your faith will keep you.

Trusting in the LORD is a daily practice. Each morning, we can dedicate our steps to Him with a prayer like, "Lord, I am trusting you today to order my steps. LORD increase Faith Today . This simple act of surrender acknowledges our dependence on HIM and invites HIM to guide us throughout the day.

When doubt creeps in,  you can  easily feel lost and you could feel like you are just constantly looking for direction. Let the word of God bring comfort to you today. Isaiah 26:4 offers a powerful message that can be our anchor in the storm: "Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD, the LORD himself, is the Rock eternal."

This reminds us that God is our everlasting rock. He is the constant source of strength, stability, and security. Unlike the temporary highs and lows of life, God's unfailing love and his faithfulness are ongoing. We can always place our trust in HIM, knowing that he will NEVER abandon us.

Trusting in the LORD doesn't mean that there wont be challenges or that everything is going to be perfect. It means that when you are facing the difficulties of life understanding that you are not alone. Sometimes trusting in God means surrendering control, I understand that is something that is hard for us to do.  I ask you today, free yourself release your grip on the outcome. Simply let go and Let God!! Surrender the plans you have for yourself. God is always with you, offering you the strength and guidance every step of the way.

Remember that even the strongest climbers need a strong base. Let God be your foundation today, place your feet of faith on the solid rock stand up straight and be confident in the base in which you are standing on. (praise break)

Have you ever woken up with a weight on your chest, a heaviness taking over your emotions? You know something's wrong, you can feel a storm brewing beneath the surface, but words seem to escape you.  This, is a day many of us know all too well. Those days when you just can't explain how you feel.

Those restless nights that wake you up and there is a cry in you that feels like its coming from the very depths of your soul, those tearful mornings can feel utterly isolating.  We search for answers, for explanations, but sometimes all we find is a deafening silence.  Our heartbeat is the only thing we can hear in the darkness. We cry out to God in the silent of the night. The moon peeking through the window dancing on the wall.  But In these moments, the wisdom of Psalm 42:11 rings true: "Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall again praise him, my help and my God."

Yes, hope. It might feel like something you can't have especially when we're drowning in our sorrows, but that's exactly when we need it most.  Trusting in God doesn't require big understanding of our situation.  It's about surrendering to a something that is truly greater than ourselves, a power that gives  purpose to our lives. The wonderful truth: you are not alone.  God sees your tears, feels your burdens.  He doesn't ask for explanations, just ask that you just trust HIM.  When words fail, enter the quiet space of prayer, and stay there for more than a  moment.  Let your anxieties take over you, and then release them and leave them at the feet of the one who can do something about it.  Your pounding heartbeat means that you are still alive. God's grace and mercy is still with you.

 In that stillness, know that God is with you, and has always been there. He is there in the good times and the bad times.  He is your anchor in the storm, the light that pierces the darkness.  He may not calm the storm immediately, but He will surely see you through it. Its knowing that even in your darkest moments God's love is there with you always. ( you can shout right there).

This journey of faith isn't always easy, but trust me, it's worth it.  Yes, I said it, I believe it is worth it! Stay the course! Hold on to hope, even when it feels like a distant thing. Trust in the unwavering presence of God, and allow Him to guide you through the rough times, the tough times towards hope.

Life can be very messy sometimes. We all find ourselves juggling multiple responsibilities. Those responsibilities we thought that we wanted as kids. You know those times when we got mad at our parents and wished we were older and could move out. And now we can all agree that we have found ourselves faced with unexpected challenges, and yearn for some sense of direction. In these moments thinking about the scripture of Isaiah 64:8 offers us some direction and even comfort. Funny how the scripture is set up to do that for us if we take the time to read it. Isaiah 64:8 says "Yet you, Lord, are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; and we all are the work of your hand."

Here we are compared to the clay on a potters wheel. Have you seen it how it just looks like a clump of nothing but yet has so much potential? Picture us as the formless lump of clay with potential and God is the master potter, who hold us in HIS hands, ready to mold and shape us into something beautiful.

As we pick apart this scripture , think of it starting out with a declaration "You, Lord, are our Father" that part right there should remind you that you are not alone. We have a loving God who wants so much for us. More than we want for ourselves and he cares for us deeply. Our dependence is on HIM as we are described as the is clay something that is nothing until it gets into the hands of the potter. That right there is God's guidance and purpose in our lives.

There is a turning point here in the scripture where the Clay is transformed and the potter molds the clay into a specific form.  Likewise God shapes us through all of our trials and tribulations, challenges and joys. Remember the trial is just a rework in the clay.(oh that will preach)  He works on us daily to strengthen our faith, and equip us for HIS purpose.

Don't you know that the molding process isn't always comfortable. There have been times where we feel like God needs to take the clay and start over. But just as you think your vision for the clay will work as is,  its not done until the Potter sees what he feels is done. Trust the process, you are in the right hands, God is in control. Trust that the trials are shaping you for a purpose. Commit to letting him be the one with a perfect design in mind. Surrender to his will  and find comfort in the the unique purpose for you.

Faith is believing in something that is greater than ourselves. But, when life gets hard, that belief can feel like your on a tightrope walking over a bottomless pit. We start to cling to what's familiar, the things that have worked for us before. We convince ourselves that we powered through the last tough time alone, truly ignoring the gentle hand of grace that might have guided us. Then we are faced with the real test: a situation that screams for divine intervention. The challenge in alot of situations is surrendering control to something we can't see and that can be terrifying. We crave those things you can touch. We crave those things that are tangible solutions, things we can grasp onto. Faith is that thing that asks us to trust in the gentle still small voice and not the shouts!! The shouts are the things we know GOD DID. (can I get an Amen right here?)

But, the same God that got you to the airport, guiding you along the way with traveling grace and road mercies is the same God that will be with you on the plane. Yet, doubt creeps in, fueled by anxieties that whisper negativity. Picture this you are so excited to go on vacation. But, your destination requires that you fly. You're now strapped in your airplane seat, there are hundred other people on the plane with you. You seem to feel a little claustrophobic, you are now going through the skies at hundred miles per hour. You find yourself playing games to take your mind off of everything and to waste time. Excitement  for your trip quickly turns to dread the longer you are on there. Your heart is now racing, you have the sweaty palms and breath has now quickened. A full blown panic attack threatens to take hold. Anyone who's experienced flight anxiety knows this feeling. The illusion of control vanishes, and now you have fear.  And there is absolutely nothing that you can do about it.

This is where your faith foundation comes in. Remember those scriptures that you have tucked away in your heart? The one that reminds you God equips you with power, love and a sound mind and not fear? (2 Timothy 1:7) Now is the time for you to revisit them. Faith is a muscle and the more you exercise it, the stronger it becomes.  Find yourself in a spiritual bootcamp from time to time, when your faith muscles are feeling weak.

So, the next time you are faced with any situation, hold onto the scriptures you have in your heart. But, just remember that when you are squeezed in a pressure situation , whatever you have in you comes out! Put in the word of God so that when are squeezed until you pop the thing that comes out  is the WORD.

Have you ever been hurt by someone? Maybe you were betrayed by a friend or family member. Maybe they said something to you that was hurtful, or a colleague took credit for something that. you worked hard on. The pain and frustrations of those experiences can linger, making forgiveness feel impossible. But, what if I told you that forgiveness isn't about the other person, its about setting you free .

This week at Bible study Elder Scott offered a powerful insight. He shared that forgiveness isn't condoning the action , but rather lifting the penalty , one of which we place on ourselves. Unforgiveness is like a prison we build around our hearts, trapping us in the pain of the past. Why should you pack that up and carry that around like luggage?

Think about it when you hold onto anger and resentment it weighs us down, steals our joy and can even hinder our prayers., as Pastor ABE emphasized in class as well. How can we truly connect with a loving God when our hearts are filled with negativity?

Forgiveness is not saying that you will be forgetting what happened or pretending it didn't hurt. It's a conscious decision to release the burden of anger and resentment, for our own sake. Forgiveness also says that if you accept the apology from someone  truly let it go. If you are holding on to it after that because you are looking for restitution that they don't even know about that keeps you in bondage!

• Acknowledge your pain/hurt.  Don't try to keep it in. Talk to a trusted friend, therapist, or spiritual leader can be a huge help getting how you feel out.
• Focus on the Moving Forward and letting go! Holding onto anger keeps you chained to the past. And, it takes more energy to be mad.  Choose to move forward.
• Practice empathy & understanding. Try to understand the other person's perspective, even if you don't agree with their actions.  Sometimes, people hurt us unintentionally. Give people the opportunity to explain why.
• Embrace the power of prayer. Prayer is a powerful tool for healing and letting go. Ask God for the strength to forgive and truly let it go. Let how you feel stay at the foot of the cross.
• Restitution: If you are looking for restitution after you have been offered an apology that was truly sincere. Then you have placed and will continue to hold yourself in bondage.

Remember, forgiveness is a journey, not a destination. There may be setbacks, but with God all things are possible!
Together, let's break free from the bondage of unforgiveness and experience the joy that God wants us all to have!

1 Thessalonians 5:16-8 "Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."

Have you ever felt so strongly about something that you prayed about it for days at a time? No, maybe we should. Prayer should become as natural to us a breathing. When we are faced with challenges and difficulties our first instinct should be to pray. Don't be in a rush to take action. Pray first, Pray before something happens, Pray while it is happening.

Let's focus on the importance of prayer. In our world today we are all fast paced. We are all in a rush, and looking for things to be quick. We make our decisions quicker now , and we go to God in prayer the same way. We are thinking that if we pray about it we will get a quick response. We think that if we are sick or feeling emotional or have some spiritual struggles, that God should answer us right away. Living in the age of Tik Tok and shorts where we are given just 1 minute or 3 minutes to decide on something has changed our ability to wait. These platforms have made us all extremely impatient. You can't go to GOD with a Tik Tok state of mind. His timing is not like ours, but HE is always on time. 

But in 1 Thessalonians it urges us to pause and pray first. It urges us to pray about all things not just the ones we deem important enough to require a quick and urgent response. Prayer gives us time to step back and see the bigger picture. Sometimes the hardest part of a situation is letting go and letting God have his way. Prayer helps us to surrender our anxieties to God trusting that HIS plan is what we need.

Open yourself up to God, take the time throughout the day before things get too urgent, your fears are too big and your frustrations over take you. Continually go to God throughout the day giving HIM thanks for ALL circumstances. Slow down and listen for that still small voice within, trust me its there if you give it a chance. You never have to wonder where God is if you stay at HIS feet.

Let prayer be your go to today, if a minute is all you have give it to God. If you are the one who can spare three minutes gives those to God as well. He is the one who is able to do something about it. You will be surprised at how just a few minutes a day will feel so good that you will want more and more. Have a lil talk with Jesus and let him make it all right.

Have you noticed how faith often flares the most in the face of a hardship? We plead for divine intervention when illness strikes, pray fervently during heartbreak, and cling to hope in the moments of uncertainty. But why does trusting God feel more natural to us during these storms or rough seasons than when life's seas are relatively calm? When everything seems to be going as we have planned.

There is a certain desperation in the midst of struggle. WE are all aware of our limitations in life. When everything feels out of control, surrendering to a higher power can be a powerful act of self-preservation. It's a way of saying, "I can't handle this hard thing God, but surely you can."

But what about those quiet moments of anxiety, the dread that creeps up on you even when things around you are okay? Why does trusting GOD seem or feel less necessary then? Why do we think we only need God when we feel like the thing or things we want require more?

But "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind" (2 Timothy 1:7). Perhaps in those calm moments you depend on self reliance. We convince ourselves we have things under control , that we shouldn't need the comfort of faith. Or have we been taught that faith is only good for the extremely tough things.(hmmm lets think about that for a moment)

But God's presence is not contingent on our circumstances or what we have going on at the time. He's there in the whispered reassurances during our anxious times just as He's present in the answered prayers during our storms of life. We should all take comfort in knowing that God is there at all times. God is there in the good times, and God is there in the bad times. If you are constantly sitting at his feet then you never have to wonder where he is! (That is a word right there)

Remember, faith isn't just about how you can weather the storms but how you handle the joy of the sunshine too. By nurturing our trust in God during all times, we create that foundation of peace that will carry us through whatever life throws our way. You should be so close to God that when anyone is around you they can feel HIM too. In HIS presence there is everything that you need.
